Installations

Each project responds to a new location in a unique and interesting way.  I create temporary site-specific installations that explore relationships between nature and built environments, public space and private experience, as well as architecture and advertising.  Using corrugated plastic and colorful vinyl, I transform ordinary materials into alluring and elaborate “synthetic growths” in which unnatural materials take on forms inspired by nature, architecture and pattern.  These temporary pieces create a variety of unexpected encounters for passing pedestrians; often lyrical or playful, occasionally aggressive and always with an exuberant burst of color.

Plastic and vinyl structures are clustered in the window like a honeycomb, plume or thought bubble emerging from a kiosk which offers an interactive component. Viewers become active agents submitting written statements that are then incorporated into the piece.
